Colin moved from an almost two decade, successful career as a marketing executive and entrepreneur with a BA from Columbia University to the world of education in 2009. He aimed to spend more time actively raising his children and fulfill his dream of teaching. He quickly earned a Master of Arts in Education from Arcadia University and a Social Studies teaching certificate.

Soon after, he discovered project-based learning (“PBL”) at The Workshop School in Philadelphia, where he volunteered and then worked. As he watched previously disengaged students suddenly push themselves to learn, he knew PBL would play a significant role in his future career. ModSchool is the culmination of his personal and professional aspirations.

Lyndie is a lifelong educator who has pursued inquiry-based learning for over 16 years. As a high school faculty member near Philadelphia, she crafted real-world learning experiences and took creative risks with the curriculum, urging students toward innovation, authenticity, and high achievement.

Lyndie attended Carnegie Mellon University as an engineering student and earned her BA in English and a Master's in Education from Penn State.

Now, together with her husband, Lyndie's daily life is now immersed in problem-solving and innovation as they establish a sustainable market garden, renovate an 1850s farmhouse, and operate a holistic horsemanship boarding facility.

Jim’s jump to a startup after two decades in independent schools shows his endless desire to push the boundaries of traditional pedagogy. He comes to ModSchool with a wealth of administrative experience, focusing on equity and inclusion, and teaching experience, focusing on his passions for learning by play and for emerging technology. Students in Jim’s classes watered plants with laser-cut Roman aqueducts and designed video games where all the dialogue was in Latin.

Jim holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Villanova University, and a post-baccalaureate certificate from the Enforex Language School in Madrid, Spain. He trained as a diversity practitioner at the Balch Institue for Ethinc Studies. Jim lives in Philadelphia, PA and takes his cues from his wife (also a teacher) and his two energetic, creative children.
